I am Karen Phelps, Certified Massage and Yoga Therapist and owner of Radiant WellBeing.
I first began my journey into the healing arts in 2005, where I spent two months on the Big Island of Hawaii studying lomilomi. It was during this time that it became very clear to me that my purpose was to help facilitate healing to others through bodywork.
In 2006 I began a new journey into Yoga Training at the beautiful Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa. After completing the Yoga Teacher training, I relocated to beautiful Ashland, Oregon, where I attended The Ashland Institute of Massage. The school offered a 650 hour program, with an intense study of Anatomy, Kinesiology, and several different healing modalities. AIM provided me with a phenomenal base and I am extremely grateful for my time in Oregon. In 2007 I began a more focused study in Myofascial Release, taught by the extraordinary John F. Barnes. His approach to the body and its ability to heal itself through this work resonated deeply with me. It is my true passion! In the Summer of 2007 I came back to California and completed a 200 hour course in Yoga Therapy, again through Ananda Seva. This program complemented the other training I had received and gave me a more in-depth approach of using Yoga as a form of therapy to help alleviate conditions in the body.
When working with my clients I listen to their physical symptoms, I assess the body structurally and energetically and then adapt the course of treatment best suited for the individual.
I have a small office in the Creekside Medical building in Santa Rosa, where I see clients for massage; therapeutic, hot stone, prenatal & LomiLomi, Myofascial Release, and Yoga Therapy. I also see clients at Me Spa, formerly Coldwater Creek Spa, on Wednesdays and Fridays for those who desire the Spa atmosphere experience.
~I welcome new clients with an open mind and an open heart~
